The story starts off when Cai Ling helps Dr Wan deliver a baby. Seeing the newborn baby looking so cute   ,    she makes up her mind to work in a hospital where she can be near the maternity ward. She dcides to take up nursing so that she can be near babies when she graduates and becomes a full-fledged nurse. Never did she expect that a nursing career would lead to so many harrowing expriences...

She meets new friends in the nursing school: Bu Bu who has a phobia for blood   ,    Belle whose main purpose in joining the course is to find a doctor boyfriend   ,    Jia Le the funnyman   ,    Jian Hui and later   ,    Xiao Lan and De Ji. At first   ,    she is enemies with Xiao Lan   ,    who cannot stand her happy-go-lucky ways   ,    and De Ji because he always sticks with the former. As time goes by   ,    they become firm friends.

Until her internship in the hospital   ,    Cai Ling and finds that she is the worst student of her cohort. She is also very klutzy and emotional. She makes friends with Gu Gu   ,    a seior nurse and her mentor. She learns a lot from Gu Gu.

Cai Ling is sent to work in the delivery room   ,    which is her dream come true. She faces babies everyday and is happy to look after the newborns   ,    until she encounters one who dies two days after he was born. She becomes very upset and decides to leave nursing...

MAIN ARTISTES  PERFORMANCES:
Charmaine Sheh: Excellent performance for a lead role!!! She is also very cute at times!!!

Samuel Chan: Much improvement since Reaching Out. He has good chemistry with Charmaine. They make a good pair together.

Lily Hong: Okay performance for her debut series. Her crying scenes are fairly good.

Kingdom Yuen: Though only a supporting role   ,    she brings out the best of her character. She has electrifying chemistry with Charmaine as mentor and pupil. I like her character best in the series.

MY THOUGHTS:
I am impressed that even though this series had a lot of new actors   ,    it has a strong storyline and the actors can act reasonably well. Some bits of dry humour are added at times to release the tension. The series has a lot of emotional and crying scenes   ,    so the bits of humour really helped.

I am especially impressed with Charmaine s acting. I can see the stages where she matures from a happy-go-lucky girl into a caring   ,    responsible nurse. She also shows me that she can act in emotional scenes (better than Lily). Congratulations to TVB for promoting her and giving her a lead role.

Kingdom Yuen is also superb in her role. She has a great sense of humour and she plays a big part in persuading Charmaine to stay on in nursing. She also has strong character and Charmaine oftens called her "unfeeling" (in jest   ,    of course). However   ,    her character faces many traumatic setbacks (her divorce with her husband and her father s death). She cannot control her emotions anymore and cries in Charmaine s and Lily s arms.

On the whole   ,    an inspiring series for those Florence Nightingale wannabes. It is suprisingly educational at times.
