There are ten episodes and each one is a different story. It is the same cast for each story but the whole series is enjoyable and refreshing. "The Threat of Love" explores different kinds of relationships in society: the male-female love       ,        the parents-children love       ,        the special friendship       ,        and many more. Even the homosexual relationship is portrayed in one episode. Different stories emphasize on the precious relationships in human society and each of them ends with the most loved sentence       ,        "I love you"       ,        which is the actual title of the series.

I did not have high expectation for this series when I rented it       ,        yet it has surprised me and surely it would do the same to you. The cast and the plot are wonderful. The series also shows the talent of Lawrence Ng who plays different roles with ease. Some of the stories are hilarious       ,        but most of them are really sad.

Here are just a few episodes that I liked best:

The episode in which Lawrence plays a triad member. Both he and Sheren came to Hong Kong on boat. While they were on the boat       ,        Lawrence witnessed Sheren being raped yet he could not do anything. As they got to Hong Kong       ,        Lawrence became a triad member who always collected debt while Sheren worked in a massage place. They both had feelings for each other yet Sheren tried to avoid him as she was still haunted by the event on the boat. She was then introduced to a man who came back from overseas to look for a wife. Only until this moment does Sheren and Lawrence realized their love for one another. The scene in the hotel where Lawrence told her his feelings for her was very moving. They both wanted to start again their lives with each other. The subplot love story of Nancy Sit was also very poignant. I thought Lawrence could only play roles like doctor       ,        lawyer       ,        but he proved me wrong.


The episode in which Lawrence plays a labouring worker who won the lottery. This story is hilarious and shows that Lawrence can act in a comedy.


The episode in which Sheren is involved with a younger guy. It is also romantic.


The last episode is women who are obsessed their looks. They would go to any extreme just to be beautiful. This episode is also very funny. Warning: there are lots of kissing and bedroom scenes (nothing too explicit though       ,        could be more than any other TVB s series that I know of). However       ,        they are done tastefully and they do not give you that awkward feeling like in other TV series.

There is not a single dragging moment in the whole series. The dialogues are witty. The plot is refreshing. The credit should go to the casts themselves. Sheren is as great as ever and she surely looks very young for her age. Nancy Sit Ka Yin still proves that she is a multi-talented actress. I would also give credit to the rest of the cast member       ,        they did a great job.
